The story centers on Tracy Turnblad, who lands a spot on "The Corny Collins Show" despite facing prejudice about her weight. Once she achieves her dream of television stardom, she realizes the show is racially segregated, only allowing Black dancers to perform on a single day a month. Alongside her new friends, Tracy campaigns to integrate the show, standing up to the program's racist producer and defending her beliefs. The story ultimately celebrates inclusivity, self-acceptance, and civil rights. This musical is based on the 1988 John Waters film.
