Frequently Asked Questions

What Types of Performance Opportunities Are Available?

The School of Ballet has an annual spring performance in which all students Kinderdance through Advanced levels perform. Rehearsals begin in January with all-Ballet School rehearsals scheduled for each Saturday in April. There are no extra costume fees for students -- those are added in to the regular ballet tuition. Past productions have included The NutcrackerSleeping BeautyAlice in Wonderland, and Peter and the Wolf.

In addition to the annual spring performance, many of our intermediate and advanced ballet students have opportunities to perform throughout the year at outreach events around the community. Kinderdance, Pre-Ballet, and Beginning Ballet students also have the opportunity to perform a short story ballet in early February.

How Do I Know If Classes Are Cancelled?

  • The School of Ballet will not automatically cancel classes if area schools are closed for the day. Creative Arts staff will decide if School of Ballet classes will be cancelled due to weather conditions.

  • Class cancellations will be texted to families (please sign up to receive School of Ballet texts) and posted on Creative Arts’ website: www.wellscocreativearts.com.

  • To receive text messages concerning cancellations, updates, and reminders, text @cacballet to 81010. You can opt out of messages at any time by replying “unsubscribe”.

  • Because students commute from various counties, Creative Arts wants all ballet families to use their discretion as to whether or not the roadways are in acceptable driving conditions to get to and from class. Creative Arts regards the safety of the students and their families more important than a class or rehearsal.
