Ballet Events![]() Classical Ballet registration The School of Ballet is now accepting registration for Classical Ballet instruction. Ballet NewsSchool of Ballet NOTES FROM MS BETH Happy New Year! I can't believe it is now 2012. Before we know it, we will be in the middle of ballet rehearsals for our Spring Ballet Program, which is May 4 & 5. The Ballet School Christmas tree was decorated by Jenna Yonker and Brenna Hiday. They did a wonderful job! As in the past, the theme of our tree reflects the title of our ballet program. This year, the red, white and blue decorations announces our "Salute to our Veterans" as we say thank you to the wonderful service men and women who have, or are serving, in the armed forces. A flyer was sent home asking students to bring a picture of their veteran (name, rank, branch of service and war noted on the back). These photos will be shown in a video during a short intermission. There are many happenings before May. Miss Jeni and I decided to try something new this year. Her students will present Erica Carle's book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" for their parents on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 2:30 in the lower level multi-purpose room. Hopefully, all parents will be able to attend. In February, I will have two guild meetings scheduled: Monday, Feb. 13 and Thursday, Feb. 16, both at 5:15 p.m. I am trying to be available to answer all questions parents have concerning Picture Day, rehearsals, costumes and the program. Please plan to attend while your child is in class. All students are in the program and therefore must be at all Saturday rehearsals. The guild meetings are your chance to have your questions answered. On Saturday, Mar. 17, the intermediate and advanced students will dance excerpts from Spring Aires for residents at River Terrace. This is the first of our two Outreach Programs this year. On a sad note, it is with sorrow that we say good-bye to our good friend Robert Stilwell, Miss Pam's father. He passed away Dec. 25, 2011 On a happier note, there is a new face in the CAC office. The new Executive Directive of the Creative Arts Council, Audrey Dean began her duties Dec. 12. Already there is a happy busy hum around the Creative Arts office. Be sure to say hello. Thank you for choosing our Ballet School and trusting us with your children. Let's Dance! Miss Beth. may begin "Creative Expression" class as early as age 3 1/2. Then, they progress through Pre-Ballet, Beginning Ballet, and on to Intermediate Ballet and Advance Ballet. ![]() Because
of the intense focus required in the learning process of ballet, the faculty encourages students to lead a balanced lifestyle, with adequate rest, time for leisure, enjoyment of school activities, a healthy diet and the support of their family. Ballet Guild An organization for parents Students
who have involved parents or caring family members are more likely to succeed and reap the many benefits of ballet training. The Ballet Guild is an organization for parents, family members and ballet patrons who perform needful tasks to support the school and students. Guild members volunteer their time as phone messengers, carpoolers, center sitters, publicity, costuming, and a variety of other important duties. |
